De Zwaarste Lijst 2011 (on Studio Brussel)
It's been quite some time since I last found the time to write an article, mostly because of real life taking its toll on me. Besides work and the usual day-to-day stuff, I've kept myself quite busy with a few projects of my own, which I'll add to my projects section as soon as the time is right.
But that wasn't the subject of this article now, was it? Studio Brussel has once again counted upon their listeners to compile a new list of heavy metal gems, better known as the heaviest list (or De Zwaarste Lijst as it is known here in Belgium).
During the weekend, I didn't really have the time to listen to the whole transmission, so I'm actually going through the list again whilst writing this article. For those who are curious to know who made the list, here it is in its entirety (together with a comparison of the positions from last year).

A lot of changes since last year, but the classics seem to stay strong throughout the list. Metallica is still big here in Belgium (hence the listcount, and the number one position of course), and even though Channel Zero has dropped a few places, they're still in the top 10.
Number 48, Disturbed with Down With The Sickness was also a really nice surprise - I've rarely heard the track on the radio, and I only know it because of the movie Queen Of The Damned, but I've loved it ever since. Good to see it has made the cut.
It wasn't a top 100 like I hoped last year, but there will be a new edition next year. Maybe then?
