Judgement Day in Sydney

posted: September 23, 2009

Wednesday morning, the entire city of Sydney, Australia, appeared to be basking in an orange glow. This phenomenon, caused by a gigantic dust cloud, lead to the following pictures: beautiful, yet strange and eerie at the same time.

The dust cloud's origin apparently is the main land, which is incredibly dry this time of the year. No matter what caused it, looking at these pictures could easily conjure up images of the Day of Reckoning or Judgement Day in most people's minds.

Some of the pictures show the difference between the normal situation, and the current orange glow - you just have to see it to believe it.

Pictures probably can't do this phenomenon justice, I wish I could have been there...
