A visit from Steve

A few days ago I noticed we had a new resident in our backyard: a little frog, sitting on the edge of our modest pond.

When I noticed him again, yesterday, I ran back into the house to get my digital camera and I snapped a few pictures of him - enjoy!

Nearly everytime I went outside, there he was on his favourite spot, but as soon as he noticed any movement in his surroundings, he'd jump into the pond and remained there on some of the leaves. Taking these two pictures wasn't that hard, but I could not get a head-on picture, because he wouldn't stay seated long enough when he noticed me... must be a camera-shy little critter!

Anyway, given the fact that I saw him that often the past few days, I decided to name him Steve. After all, every animal deserves his or her identity, and as you might or might not remember, Steve is a good name - even for a frog.

That was the good news so far - but this morning I haven't seen him. In fact, since the weekend has ended, I haven't seen him at all. Maybe Steve is off to work - I hope he's alright.

Folks, if you see Steve, give him my regards and tell him his spot will be there, waiting for him to return.
